Jarosław Bosy is a Full Professor at the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics of Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Poland. Furthermore, he has been Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations since September 2016.

 

He received the PhD degree in Geodesy and Cartography in 1996 and Postdoctoral lecturing qualification (habilitation) in 2006 from Faculty of Mining Surveying and Environmental Engineering of AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland. In March 2014 he was nominated by Polish President for Professor  title in Technical Sciences.

 

His researches are concentrated along three directions: reference frames realization in global, regional and local scale using GNSS techniques, GNSS meteorology – utilization of the Global Navigation Satellite System’s (GNSS) radio signals to derive information about the state of the atmosphere, and application of GNSS technique in geodesy and geodynamics. He is the head of the IGG GNSS&METEO research group (http://www.igig.up.wroc.pl/igg/).

 

Prof. Jarosław Bosy is well known by the international scientific community as a vice-chair of International Association of G Sub-Commission 4.3: Atmosphere remote sensing. Moreover, he is an active member of European Geosciences Union (EGU) and American Geophysical Union (AGU). Reviewer of numerous ISI scientific journals and national and international expert for the evaluation of research projects in such grant agencies as the National Science Centre (NCN), National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR), European Research Council (ERC) and European GNSS Agency (GSA)
